Play Minecraft on planet Earth
You're literally on planet Earth. The KiwiSMP Earth map is the real world scaled down to 1:500: the continents, countries, mountain ranges and coastlines are all where you'd expect them. Spawn in, pick a direction and walk (or fly) to anywhere you know.
Because the map is 1:500 rather than huge, players end up close together. You'll meet the people in your region, which is exactly what makes an Earth SMP fun: neighbours, borders, trade routes and a bit of drama.
Build in your real hometown
Build a cabin where you actually live, recreate your city's landmarks, or find a quiet beach on the other side of the world and settle in. Lots of new players start by travelling to their hometown and building there. It's the easiest way to find other players from your country.
Claim land and keep it safe

Start a nation, join a clan

The KiwiSMP Earth SMP uses a 1:500 scale map of the real world, so one block is roughly 500 metres. Continents, countries and coastlines are where you'd expect them.
Can I build in my real hometown?
Yes. Travel to your country or city on the map, claim the land and build. Lots of players start in their real hometown.
